History
Orinigally constructed in 1949, Babson's swimming pool was
officially dedicated on November 10 of that year in honor of
Colonel John E. Millea, former instructor in Production and Dean of
the Faculty who left Babson to fight in World War II. The pool was
later renamed the Elizabeth Morse Swimming Center in honor of the
mother of Richard M. Genius, whose generous gift to the College in
1988 helped refurbish the swimming facility. In addition, Mr.
Genius' gift enabled the renovation of Millea Hall, which assumed
the name of Colonel Millea.
