LAST MEETING: Today marks the first meeting between Babson and Plymouth State since January 28, 2003, when the Beavers' scored a 7-1 win in Babson Park.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS: Plymouth State (8-3) has dropped two straight contests after opening with eight wins in its first nine games. The Panthers fell 6-2 at Oswego State in the opening round of the Pathfinder Bank Classic before dropping the consolation game, 4-3, to Castleton State. First-year Zach Fox scored a goal and added two assists against the Spartans and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Fox, along with junior Travis Stevens and senior Kyle Greco, have all scored a team-high six goals, while senior Alex Cottle leads the team with 14 points on four goals and a team-best 10 assists.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS: Babson (7-2-2) has won seven straight games after picking up a pair of one-goal victories to claim the Middlebury College Holiday Classic championship. The Beavers knocked off 14th-ranked Middlebury 2-1 on Saturday before turning back No. 12 Manhattanville, 3-2, in the Championship Game behind two goals from junior Connor Berto and 32 saves from first-year goalie Jamie Murray. Berto leads the team in goals with eight and is second behind senior PT Donato (0-11-11) with 10 points. Murray is now 6-1-1 in eight starts this season, posting a 1.74 goals against average to go along with a .937 save percentage.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The Beavers' seven game win streak is the program's longest run since the 2004-05 team posted 10 straight victories.
