Men's Tennis Suffers First Defeat At Wesleyan, 5-4
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- The Babson College men's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season on Thursday, as the Beavers fell to host Wesleyan University in a close match, 5-4. The Cardinals remained unbeaten at 4-0 with the win, while the loss dropped Babson's record to 2-1.
Babson junior Austin Conti and sophomore Taylor Dutton recorded an 8-5 win at number three doubles, but Wesleyan took the other two pairings to take a 2-1 lead in the overall match. The Beavers then received singles victories from junior Justin Albert at number two, sophomore Nissim Cohen-Sabban at four, and Dutton at six, but the Cardinals took the matchups at one, three, and five to clinch the overall 5-4 win.
Babson heads right back to the court with a match on Friday, as the Beavers host Tufts at 2 p.m. in a make-up contest that was originally scheduled for this past Saturday.
