This fall the Babson athletic teams not only performed on the field and in the classroom, but they also gave back to the community in many different ways. Several teams participated in community service events that benefited many organizations including the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and the Jimmy Fund. Im extremely proud of everything our athletes have done and continue to do within the community, said Director of Athletics Josh MacArthur. These young men and women have tremendous demands on their time and energy, and yet they still make the effort to give back in whatever way they can. They genuinely thrive on touching the lives of others, and in doing so they serve as wonderful ambassadors for Babson College and our athletics program. [+]

The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has officially announced its fall Academic All-Conference Teams, and a total of 12 Babson College athletes were recognized. Representing the Beavers with All-Academic honors were senior Kristen Lang (Kennebunk, Maine), sophomore Kyle Fitzpatrick (Toledo, Ohio), and sophomore Mike Smith (Brockton, Mass.) of cross country; senior Emiley Cohen (West Grove, Pa.), senior Alyssa L'Bassi (Shrewsbury, Mass.), and junior Colleen Kelly (Milton, Mass.) of field hockey; seniors Dan Fogarty (Brookeline, N.H.) and Sean Gleason (Clinton, N.Y.) of men's soccer; junior Katy Alea (Southborough, Mass.), junior Laura Duston (Nashua, N.H.), and sophomore Alexa Untermann (Honolulu, Hawaii) of volleyball; and junior Kristy Benoit (Shrewsbury, Mass.) of women's soccer. After becoming just the second player in Babson College field hockey history to earn NEWMAC Player of the Year honors, senior captain Jessica Paladino (Turner, Maine) will now represent the Beavers in the 2009 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior All-Star Game. Paladino will join 37 other senior all-starts from across the nation in the event, which will take place at Mount Holyoke College on Sunday, November 22, at 9;30 a.m. as part of National Championship Weekend.
