Women's Lacrosse Storms Past Roger Williams, 17-9
BRISTOL, R.I. -- Junior Misha Beatty scored a season-high seven goals and junior Julie Baharestani finished with 12 saves in net as the Babson College women's lacrosse team defeated host Roger Williams University, 17-9, in non-conference action on Tuesday. The Beavers have now won two straight games to move to 3-4 on the year.
In addition to her game-high seven goals, Beatty also tacked on two assists and two caused turnovers in the victory. Senior Jameson Spang added four goals for the Green and White, while senior Taylor Kralovenec chipped in two goals and a team-best four assists.
Babson took control of the contest early on, starting the game with a 6-1 run that was capped by three unanswered scores from Beatty. The Hawks pulled back to within three with back-to-back goals, but the Beavers responded with a 4-1 burst to extend their lead to 10-4 with six and a half minutes left in the first half.
A six-goal run by the visitors in the second half turned an 11-6 lead into a dominating 17-6 advantage as Babson coasted to the 17-9 win.
