LAST MEETING
Junior Kristen Caporelli drove in three runs and first-year Edie Huling went 2-for-3 with two runs scored as Tufts defeated Babson, 9-6, on April 17 in Medford, Mass. Senior Erica Pavlo hit a two-run homer in the second inning for the Beavers, who had 14 hits but stranded 11 runners on base.

LAST BABSON WIN
Meaghan Merullo '17 was 2-for-4 with two RBI and sophomores Jacqueline Paul and Tori Roche both added two hits and drove in a run apiece to help the Beavers defeat Tufts, 9-4, in the opening game of a twin bill on April 11, 2017, in Babson Park. Junior Ashley Tango and sophomore Victoria Casey both scored twice for Babson, which put up six runs in the third inning.

SCOUTING THE JUMBOS
Tufts (22-6) has won seven consecutive games after finishing off a sweep of 11th-ranked Amherst with a 12-9 game-two victory on Saturday. Senior Samantha Siciliano hit a three-run homer and drove in four runs for the Jumbos, who had 17 hits and took advantage of three errors by the Mammoths. Senior Raven Fournier is batting .406 with seven extra-base hits, 18 runs batted in and 24 runs scored, Siciliano is hitting .370 with five triples and 18 RBI, and Caporelli checks in at .313 with three extra-base hits and a team-high 21 runs driven in. first-year pitchers Kristi Van Meter (10-2) and Kristina Haghdan (8-3) boast a 1.18 ERA and have combined for 144 strikeouts in 130.1 innings.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
Babson (23-11) has won three straight games after finishing off a sweep of Coast Guard with a 3-1 victory on Saturday afternoon. Tango and senior Samantha Smith combined for five hits and two RBI in support of sophomore Katie Gademsky, who allowed just one run in a complete-game effort. Tango is batting .375 with 11 doubles and 22 runs batted in, Paul is hitting .355 with six extra-base hits and 28 RBI, and junior Annie Quine checks in at .352 with 11 extra-base hits, 29 runs scored and 30 runs driven in. Senior Ali Reilly is 13-4 with a 2.38 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 111.2 innings, while sophomore Brooke Stock is 7-5 with a 2.13 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 69.0 innings pitched.

WHERE WE LEFT OFF
Before the teams begin their third matchup of the season, they must finish game two of last Tuesday's doubleheader. The Beavers rallied for three runs in the top of the sixth inning and the game was halted due to darkness following the bottom of the seventh. The contest will resume tied at 4-4 with Babson batting as the visiting team in the top of the eighth inning.

REGIONAL IMPACT
The Jumbos, who were sixth in last week's regional rankings, are the third straight ranked opponent for the Green and White, which was fifth in the initial NCAA New England poll. Tufts is 3-0 against regionally-ranked foes after sweeping Amherst, while Babson is 5-6.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
The Beavers are 21-1 this season when finishing with more hits than their opponents. The lone loss came in last week's 9-6 setback at Tufts.
