Ekman Selected to NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

BOSTON—Babson College senior Paris Ekman (Fargo, N.D.) was honored for her work in the classroom on Tuesday when she was named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's swimming & diving Academic All-Conference team for the third year in a row.
Ekman is coming off a tremendous performance at the conference meet, which included shattering her own school record on the 3-meter diving board with a score of 441.35 on Sunday night. She came in eighth in the 3-meter event, which followed her fifth-place showing in the 1-meter diving competitoin on Friday night.
Academic all-conference honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2016 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
Ekman will compete in the NCAA Division III Regional Diving Championships for the fourth consecutive season on Friday and Saturday at MIT.
