Tufts Hands Women's Tennis First Loss, 9-0
MEDFORD, Mass. -- The Babson College women's tennis team saw its five-match win streak come to a halt on Sunday, as the Beavers fell to regional powerhouse Tufts University, 9-0. With the loss, Babson falls to 5-1 on the year.
The Beavers' closest two matches of the day came at first and third singles. Senior captain Jes Huang fell to Tufts' Julia Browne, 6-3, 6-1, at one, while senior captain Lorena Becerra lost to Janice Lam, 6-3, 6-2, at three.
Babson returns to action this Tuesday, when they travel to Norton to face NEWMAC rival Wheaton at 3:30 p.m. That contest will have huge conference playoff implications, as Babson sits in first place with a record of 3-0 while Wheaton sits in a tie for second at 3-1.
