    BABSON PARK, Mass.—Trailing Plymouth State University 2-0 with runners on first and second and nobody out in the top of the third inning, the Babson College baseball team found itself in an early hole. Beavers’ junior starter Nick Malatos (Milton, Mass.) needed to work out of a jam starting with the first out. Little did he know that first out would be the start of a triple play.

    BOSTON--After posting 20 wins for eighth straight season, two members of the Babson College baseball team earned All-New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) honors when the conference announced its postseason awards on Tuesday. Senior pitcher Matt Grenier (Rochester, N.H.) garnered first-team accolades while junior outfielder Dillon Gonzalez (Beverly, Mass.) was named to the second-team for the first time.

Director of Athletics and Recreation Josh MacArthur also announced the renaming of an award after 23-year assistant baseball coach and NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) Dr. Norm Govoni.

The Engineers used a four-run fifth inning to rally for a 5-3 victory in game one, and then exploded for 13 runs in the sixth inning of the nightcap en route to a 19-6 win.

Senior Matt Grenier (Rochester, N.H.) tossed all 10 innings to pick up the win for the Beavers, while junior Hayden Cornwell (Newport Beach, Calif.) sent the game into extra innings with a two-run home run in the ninth for the Engineers.
