Men's Ice Hockey's Flynn Chosen as Student-Athlete of the Week

Babson College men's ice hockey senior Patrick Flynn (Framingham, Mass.) was chosen as the department's Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday. Flynn matched his career high with a goal and two assists for three points in the Beavers' 6-0 season-opening win over Castleton on Sunday inside the Babson Skating Center.

One of Babson's top forwards, Flynn played in 23 games last winter scoring six goals and setting new career highs with 15 assists and 21 points. He put together six multi-point games, which included recording his first career hat trick in an 11-2 win over Johnson & Wales in February.

A two-time NEHC Academic All-Conference honoree, Flynn has recorded 19 goals and 37 assists for 56 points in 71 career games for the Beavers.

In order to be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be either a junior or senior and carry a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.30.

Favorite Class at Babson
Real Estate Investments. This was a class that I was looking forward to taking since my freshman year. I took it the fall of my junior year and it covered the principles of commercial real estate investing. Professor Griesmer presented the material in an appealing manner, and it covered real estate investing strategies that I want to perform as my career advances. It was a class that I was eager to attend every week.

Favorite Professor at Babson
Professor Erin Escobedo: Professor Escobedo truly cares about her students, and she wants to help put them in a position to succeed in her classes and in the professional world. She takes difficult material such as real estate law and breaks it down into much more manageable segments for students. She makes herself available to students outside of normal class time, and she is enthusiastic about learning what students are pursuing for internships and jobs after graduation. I highly recommend her Residential Real Estate and Real Estate Transactions classes.

Plans Following Graduation
I signed on with Berkshire Hathaway's Real Estate Brokerage as an agent in their Winchester office in the middle of December. I am focusing on working with real estate investors to find small multi family properties in the Greater Boston area. I want to get into real estate development as I gain more experience in the field.
