Babson College men's ice hockey senior Brendan Casey (Glastonbury, Conn.) was selected as the department's Student-Athlete of the Week last Friday afternoon. A defenseman, Casey scored once in a 6-1 win over Castleton on February 5 and has appeared in all four games this season for the Beavers, who have allowed just four goals during their 4-0 start.
Casey produced two goals and two assists for four points last winter as the Green and White ranked third in Division III in scoring defense and returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014. Overall, Casey has appeared in 78 career games producing three goals and seven assists for 10 points.
In order to be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be either a junior or senior and carry a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.30.

Favorite Class at Babson
Sports Law and Policy. Spending a lifetime playing sports and my interest in law as a profession, this course has combined my two greatest interests in a creative way. It's a course that arises excitement and conversation about issues or policy within the sports world that I would have never imagined exist.
Favorite Professor
Bret Bero. I've had Professor Bero twice now and his combination of wit and industry knowledge on consulting and strategy helped me progress in the way I attack different problems and create meaningful solutions.
Plans Following Graduation
I'm still undecided on where I will begin my career post-college. Both the business and legal world are desires of mine and I hope to do some combination of the two.
