Kyle Hayes was hired as the full-time assistant men's lacrosse coach at Babson College in August 2019.
Hayes comes to Babson following a two-year stint as a graduate assistant men's lacrosse coach at Misericordia University in Dallas, Pa. He served as the defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator for the Cougars, who made a pair of Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom conference tournament appearances. Hayes helped Misericordia set a school record with 14 wins on the way to reaching the league final in 2018, while the 2019 squad finished 9-7.
No stranger to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), Hayes spent the 2015-16 campaign at Wheaton College. He served as the defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator while helping the Lyons reach the conference tournament semifinals.
In addition to his collegiate experience, Hayes spent two seasons as an advanced scouting coordinator for the New York Lizards of Major League Lacrosse just prior to his time at Misericorida. While with the Lizards, he was responsible for putting together scouting reports and film breakdown in addition to assisting with game planning.
Hayes also spent the 2017 season as an assistant coach at Marvin Ridge High School in Waxhaw, N.C., where he ran the offense and coached six all-state selections as the program reached the state semifinals.
After beginning his career at Plattsburgh State University, Hayes transferred to the University of Mississippi and earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration in 2015. While at Ole Miss, he was a three-year starter and served as team captain and director of operations for the Rebels, who competed in the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA).
