BABSON PARK, Mass.—The Babson College field hockey team was recognized for its success in the classroom recently as four players were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Academic Squad.
Along with the individual awards, the Beavers were one of 146 Division III programs to receive National Academic Team honors from the NFHCA. The award was the eighth in the last nine years for the program, which finished the fall term with a 3.31 team grade-point average.
Sophomores Kelsey Low (Longmeadow, Mass.), Claire Nichols (St. Louis, Mo.) and Kelly Read (Sayville, N.Y.) were all named to the academic squad for the second year in a row, while first-year Soobin Lee (Natick, Mass.) was recognized for the first time in her career.
The National Academic team recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2020-21 academic year.
After being unable to play in the fall, Babson will host Stonehill on Wednesday, April 14, at 7 p.m.
